Katalyst for change

Posted by September 23rd, 2016

Linn have just announced a major update for the Klimax DS and Klimax DSM digital streamers.

They have introduced a completely new DAC architecture named Katalyst delivering the most accurate reproduction ever from a digital source.

Katalyst takes an unprecedented level of control over the critical elements that lie at the heart of the analogue signal’s creation; offering improved Data Optimisation, superior Master Clock, independent Power Supplies, a new ultra-low distortion Output Driver and crucially, for the first time, a high-stability input Reference Level.

The latter is vitally important because, at the point of creation, the analogue audio signal is particularly vulnerable even to miniscule variations in the Reference Level, which cause irreversible damage.

Katalyst’s high-stability input Reference Level eliminates variations during analogue signal creation.

This is the biggest performance upgrade Linn have ever released for Klimax DS and Klimax DSM. Katalyst’s brand new DAC architecture achieves a completely new level of precision in digital-to-analogue conversion, giving you a deeper insight into your music.

As usual any Klimax DS or DSM can be upgraded with the new Katalyst board and also as before, the old board can be fitted into a Renew case to give you a second player if you wish.

For upgrade and Renew prices please email or call, when we will also be happy to book your own personal demonstration of this remarkable new upgrade.

The new products and upgrades are available now.
